Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Rowdy black teenagers, with a sprinkling of white teenagers, ran wildly in all directions in a large fenced-in aea of the sprawling park.  They yelled and howled and taunted the police who had been called in to calm them at a party that had become a storm of confusion and fighting.

In the middle of the madness a fat black man, dressed in a black suit, white shirt, and red tie thought, This is my moment.  He declared himself an "instant preacher" as many do to make a buck in black communities.  He dropped to his knees, turned his strong face up toward space, rubbed his bald head, closed  his eyes, and began shouting into the noise, "Oh, Lawd, protect us po' black folks from these racist police . . !"

He opened his eyes to see whether he was getting any attention and thought, These Irish police is too nice.  We need some Russian police.  Russian police is schooled in the expertise of kicking butt.  The mo' we can provoke these police to whip'um the mo' chance we got to get some fatalities and file some lawsuits -- oh, Lawd, that police holding that girl on the ground just tore here head off her body, my God, this is horrible -- but wait, is she got two heads?  Oh, that was that pile of ropes they attach to they real hair that he pulled from her head -- "Stand up, girl, stand up for yo' rights, don't let that white man hold you down . . . !"

"Rev, I saw you praying while I was taking pictures," a white reporter said to  him.  "These pictures of these poor, heroic -- UNARMED -- young, black people being brutalized by the police are going to be shown over and over and over on TV and in newspapers, and they can not only extend  this peaceful protest for days or weeks against the injustice to -- UNARMED -- black children by racist police but, hopefully, there will be copy-cat demonstrations all over the country and we can have monthly bridge-praying all over the nation just as they did on that bridge a few months ago in Georgia or Mississipi or Alabama or somewhere down South honoring the bridge-whipping that Dr. King got for his people --"

"Thank you, Jesus, thank you, Lawd, for this holy man," the preacher said.  "I know you -- just like me -- was sent by God -- 'No Justice No Peace' -- hallelujah!  'Hands Up Don't Shoot' -- hallelujah!  'I Can't Breath' -- hallelujah . . . !"
